Is there a way to bypass Binary download limit?

I've been trying to download a TV episode from a binary newsgroup. My news server has a 200MB limit in a 24 hr period. My news server DOESN'T ask for a password or login name. If I close Outlook, then restart it, how does it know who I am? Is there a way to trick it into thinking I'm someone else. If not, does anyone know of a free newsgroup that would have alt.binary.multimedia?

I'm using XP Pro.

(I wasn't sure which forum this should have been posted in. I figured that the answer had to do with windows.)

maybe the download limit is per ip address... Also you didnt say but I'm assuming that the file is larger than 200 megs? hmm... I seem to remember a friend of mine using some download manager type app, that (even if you only had one static ip) could alter the ip header info in your outbound packets to trick a connection-limited server into allowing multiple connections.(dont know what its called sorry...) But then you're at the mercy of the server, as to whether or not it allows you to resume files or not..

Asking for help stealing isn't appropriate for any of the forums here.

How is it stealing? I'm not stealing the TV Episode... because I could have easily recorded it myself on a VHS tape. And I'm not stealing from my DSL provider. It's ridiculous that their putting a limit to how much I can download from a binary newsgroup. They don't have a price plan that allows you to download more... One price fits all.

I stayed away from the piracy issue. Personally I think it would be great if all of these media companies went out of business.

Wrong :)

Maybe, but you agreed to it.

Then complain. Talk to them. Dont try ripping them off. Maybe look into a premium usenet source.

Thats not what the law says.

And your attempting to steal bandwidth from your provider. If not a criminal tresspass, you would at least be in violation of your tos.

My best advice would be to subscribe to a premium server (what I do). I'm over at newsfeeds.com ($10 per month gets you 500mb/day on one server and 250mb/day on another). More money gets you more bandwidth per day (and access to more servers).
