Is there a way to "access your cable modem"

I was wondering if there was a way to access my cable modem so I could "tweak it". I know for a fact that they have a bandwidth limit on there and wanted to know if I could modify it. It's not like I have 1.5MB cable and instead of getting more expensive service I'm doing this, but I have the most expensive service and I'm not getting 5MB, but only 4MB which pisses me off. I think I could get it to go 8 and it shouldn't matter anyways because most of the people on my street are elderly..

 

What you're proposing is fraud and can land you in jail. Really.

If you're not getting speed that you are paying for, call your cable company. Don't commit fraud.

that would likely be against your TOS. asking how to violate your TOS on AT is generally frowned upon.
