Cool Icons, Dock and all! Is there a way I can do this? :) I've been googling but have not found any (seemingly to me) solid solution.

Any help would be appreciated!

Right now it's a violation of Microsoft's liscencing crap for people to make programs that modify the behavior or look of the desktop enviroment. Or something like that.

I noticed though on a windows new site that their was a program that could modify any aspect of the Windows Desktop. You know get rid of the taskbar, create floating menus, clocks and such. You can make customized stuff using visual programming products and all that stuff.

But for the life of me I can't seem to find were I found it. :(

All in all, it just made you desktop look like a crappy version of X windows. The screen shot was of a floating taskbar, a happy face with Eye balls that followed the mouse, a floating clock and a couple other useless stuff.

Maybe if you can find that you could create your own custom icons and stuff to make it look like OS X, their are plenty of X windows-based themes out their you could pull icons of off.

Of course it's co$ts ya.

But other then that. No, I don't think you can't make your Desktop look OS X.

The program to modify Windows into an OSX-ish feel is called Y'z Dock. Unfourtunately Apple decided to force the developer (a Japanese guy) to cease and desist development of Y'z. But there is a now a program called Object Dock that does the same thing as Y'z, but better. Of course, the company that makes it, StarDock, charges an arm and a leg for it.

If you want to check out what is possible in Windows XP, Mac OSX, and Linux/*BSD Desktops nowadays, go see deviantART's or Customize.org's screenshots section.

Last time I checked, which was a week ago, ObjectDock was free. I downloaded it from their website.

Look here for a lot of info on OSX stuff.

Litestep may be worth looking into, even if theres not a Mac OS X type theme already, you can make one. I used to use litestep when i had windows 98 and it wasnt bad, really just a shell replacement for explorer so you can make it look however you like.

TgtSofts' StyleXP used to have a them called EclipseOSX that got you pretty close. Seems that the latest version of StyleXP does not have it though.
EDIT: ThemeXP.org Has OSXP. Looks pretty good. You need either the styleXP program or the hacked Uxtheme.DLL file.

oh.. that reminds me. I found Mac skin for ThemeXP (or was it for Windowsblind?) somewhere on the net. It's packed with all mac icons, cursors and fonts.
I forgot the URL, i'll post it if I could find it again.
