Is there a way for iTune to automatically update its library?

I ripped a few CDs recently and WMP 11 library had no problem recognizing right away. However, the same MP3 doesn't show up on iTune library...if I use import from folder, it attempts to convert WMA and other format into MP3....very annoying.

Is there a way for iTune to automatically update its library?

Only if iTunes did the ripping.

But having iTunes scan the new folder will not cause it convert the file to a different format, especially wma.
