is there a way around to partition/format a hard drive fat32 more than 32g in winxp?

i have the another hard drive (80G) that i wanna use as fat32 partition as secondary hard drive in winxp computer but it won't let me format as a whole 80g. is there wy around it?

use NTFS its better..... the ONLY reason to not is if you need compatibility with another OS that doesn't support NTFS

i know that ntfs is better,thanks
but i used it to transfer file back and forth with my office computer like a revobale rack. and the ofice uses win98se. and i just got this new hard drive just now,at home i don't have win98se ,just winxp.
beside waiting till monday to partition/format this new hard drive

You could fdisk/format the HD with a Win98 boot disk. XP is quite happy to read larger volumes than 32gb - just it won't format them for ya.

hmm, you're right but i don't have win98 boot disk around. do you know where i can get one?

You can do it with fdisk and format with a dos bootable floppy disk. Problem is that WindowsXP may run a little slower since it doesn't like the big partition.

Also, I've tried doing it with an external drive via USB2.0 and WinXP wouldn't detect it unless each partition was 32gb or less.
