so... rename/change the extension of the exe file....

its smarter than that

no its not.

i rename it to .notanexe :)
another tool to try would be microsoft live sync or live mesh. i used it and it works pretty well.

no need to open ports either!

Maybe it's not Gmail, but your company's own filters in an attempt to thwart IP (intellectual property) theft.

Portableapps.com. Get winrar for your flash drive. It doesn't need installation on school computers. Then you can rar it and encrypt with no trouble.

It won't execute programs like that. I don't know they did it.

im guessing the op is doing this ^

OP you need to be able to display file extensions. Its in your foldier options.

If you dont display extensions, any extension u add onto it will be in the middle, like LS21 posted.

So your really doing LMAO.asdf.exe which is why its failing.

Yeah a serious pain in the shitter.

What's also bad is when a client needs a patch and the only thing they understand is email. How the hell am I supposed to explain how to download and view/change extensions when they can barely operate a browser :(

Uh, the thought of emailing them a link didn't occur to you? :)

OP: Try renaming it to file.jpg.vbs to see if it goes through :)

Well the software is from a proprietary accounting place. Like MAS 90. Can't log in to get the patch without an account. And they can never remember how to log into the site, the password, account numbers, etc.

Just easier for me to download it and drive over there and load it. But they wanted it emailed to try and save me from having to drive over and load it (and bill them).
