Is there a UCLA computer club?

I was wondering if there is any computer clubs at UCLA. Not for playing games, but for trading hardware or buying/selling computer hardware/software?

There used to be CSUA (Computer Science? User Association, doesn't quite make sense, adn I know it wasn't restricted to Computer Science students), but they closed down a few weeks ago. There is LUG (Linux Users Group), but they aren't really a "general" computer club.

there's clubs on campus at UCLA??? ha ha, j/k, i know OF them... ha ha, don't recall seeing anything bout computer clubs though

Oh, I didn't see that last part... hmmm well just join ESUC anyways...

Well if you want to bs around computer talk ESUC will do also..

But anways.... there is a forum system at My.UCLA and some glimer of computer trading/selling/buying

Sendtrash, i've heard from a past board member that ESUC basically does nothing... and people just join to put it on their resume... is this true...?

my friend was in SWE because he wanted to meet girls.

i just said it because that's the only organized tech club on ucla

Supradude: It depends on who is leading... Last Quarter Summer/Fall 2000 we did lots of things,
Our officers wrote a proposal to get 12 1 gig computer from Intel -Free
1 dual 1gig xeon server from intel -free
We had Engineering Welcome Day - Over 300 people attending
We had movie night, IBM came to present at out new renovated louge, had a workshop on what classes to take noext quarter.

ESUC is planing on the BIG e-week Spring Quarter.. basically we are writing proposals right now to try to raise 10 grand. That is a big leap from last year's 1,500 budget.

We will try to have Soap Box Races down Bruin Walk, maybe a concert if one of our ExComm groups gets a band, the traditional Egg Drop and other Engineering Feastivals

Basically ESUC, like any other organization, you get out of it what you put into it. All the officers right now are putting a lot into ESUC to have fun acitivities, I just hope that the other engineering groups and general membership joins and puts effort into it also

BTW check out our kickass Website

croton: i was in cacn last year but this year i needed to concentrate on classes cuz i suffered because of it last year...

but next year i plan to be back. muhahaha. 🙂
