Is there a trick to use a MHL adapter with a non-MHL ready device?

I got the MHL adapter HDMI adapter, it was so cheap I just had to get it. My phone is not MHL ready but there is got to be a trick or hack that will enable you to use this. I mean, there is got to be a software based solution that can send the screen data in the HDMI format, right?

MHL is a hardware standard. You should it doesn't work? Did you try?

maybe, but you might still hardware acceleration to encode/decode/send the data

check if there's a kernel mod for MHL for your device... sometimes, hardware is there but not enabled in default kernel (USB-OTG comes to mine), and custom kernels might enable it

check if there's a slimport kernel mod as well.... slimport and MHL are competing standards for video out
