IS THERE A SOLUTION???

Yes, some MB used to have dip switches or something like that, it allowed you to change the multiplier. Now amd has said no to the mobo makers and therefor those dip switches have been removed, but the connectors are still there so you can just solder new pins on it.
 
Just an update from overclockers.com:

"7/17/00-AMDZone has a statement from Asus saying their first "mass production shipment" will not have the multiplier dip switch, but all future ones after that will."

Thought ya might like to know.
