Is there a simple, free way to lock a Microsoft keyboard under Win2K?

My wife has been sitting at the computer with our daughter, and our daughter likes to bang on the keys, sometimes producing strange results. Is there a way, either software or a Win2K setting or MS Internet Keyboard software, that will allow my wife to lock the keyboard while still using the mouse and then allowing an unlock with specific key combination (like CTRL-ALT-L for on/off)?

I did some searching on MS and in Windows, but I couldn't mind anything. I found some teacher software for classrooms, but that doesn't help much. Any help?? Thanks.

how about USB keyboard. Plug it in whenever you need it.

Or can you somehow turn off that USB port?

While the extra keyboard idea is good, we don't have the desk space for it in this house (it's Japanese and a little cramped).

Hmm, that's an interesting idea. I think it IS a USB keyboard, and if it is, we can plug it into the front of the system (it's a SFF) and disconnect it when Sophie wants to mash the keys.

It still would be easier with a hotkey of some sort. I'll have to do more searching.
