Am I alone in this? Good lord- I signed up under their "dish buyback" program where they're supposed to chop $25 off your bill each month. Well They took me off it, didn't tell me about it and refuse to adjust my bill. They say there's "no record" of my account being on that program and it's up to me to prove it. WTF? On top of that their internet service is down more than it's up. I finally got fed up and brought all their hardware back and told them to eat it.

I am now posting from my neighbor's unsercured wireless until next week when SBC dsl is installed.

Short version: Comcrap cable sucks.

I absolutely love Comcast. Digital cable + OnDEMAND + high speed internet for $74/mo? Count me in!

I too have this plan, and the price is VERY kick ass. It's too bad the internet's down half the time, and HBO works only once in a blue moon. Don't even get me started with their mentally challenged support agents.

I haven't any problems to speak of in the 4 years I've been with them.

No problems here. I used to have some issues back when it was ATTBI, both service and billing, but Comcast has been awesome.

Hopefully Charter is better, since that's when I'll be on when I move. I've been on @home->Cox for over five years, and it's been good to me.

when i moved here from TN 5yrs ago, i got their entire service. cable internet and cable teevee. they claimed to, but did not, have a lot of the channels i asked about. once it was in and i complained that they were not available... i was told i needed the digital package in order to get the channels. i got it, but no channels i wanted. then they said i had to wait for the upcoming autumn when they were adding more. i waited. did not happen. now... i had 3 slavic channels, a dozen hispanic channels, 4 oriental channels and almost two dozen local pulic access channels but NOT the popular national channels i wanted. a month later... they added three channels... nasa, 24hour golf and another hispanic channel. they raised my bill $5.00 for them... even though i did not want the channels.. too bad for me... i had to have them and pay extra for them.

the internet access at the time was 3mb d/l and 128 u/l for $30.00a month. great. then excite sold and comcast gave us 1.5 down and 128 up. then my bill went from $30. to $45. for less speed. two good things though. somewhere, they made a mistake and thought i had purchased the modem. they were almost $300. at the time. and when i canceled the cable teevee they still had it on my internet bill for the subscriber price.

i had been paying the cheaper price until last month (4yrs worth) when i had trouble and the tech came out and realized that i did not have the teevee cable. so they will be raising my internet rate. but they just gave me a 6 month at $19.99 promotion for the trouble i had been having for the last 3 months. when that is over, i will be at a non subscriber rate.

I am hoping that FIOS is available by then. Right now, i never get more than 2.5mb d/l.

:)

Heh.. I have SBCYahoo DSL, and I pay like $36.95 for 3mb/384k, and simply do not have cable or satellite tv at all. Every once in a while I think about getting a subscription for cable (along with a Tivo), but I just never bother..

..I had comcast (concast?)..here in SF but dumped them because of customer "no service" and endless price increases. I don't watch much tv except dvd movies so I find the money I used to spend on concast is better spent on dvd purchases and rentals..and I see only what I want to see. Not 199 channels of filler garbage. My couch time is limited.
