is there a season 5 for 24 being planned or in production?

It's doing well in the ratings so they'll probably have a Season 5. It's contract is up and Fox will probably pick it back up since it's doing well.
 
My guess is (And this is pure speculation, as I do not read or look up any spoilers for the show), but I think that Jack has to be bad if there was a fifth season.

Makes sense, as he's lost soo much through the Seasons because of his job.

But they would have to find some other bada$$ to take Jack down. (It would have to be the last season also.)

I'm glad to hear there's another 2 series (at least) of 24, it, along with Scrubs and Top Gear, are really the only TV programs I watch.

I've watched 7 of the 4th series (episodes 5-11) over the past two days, it's just so thrilling and gripping!

next season should be interesting...they've hired two new writers to run it, david fury (who wrote some of Lost's best eps this season), and manny coto (who wrote what was supposedly a much improved season on enterprise)
 
That's good that Fox re-uped it. There was a rumor floating for a little while that NBC was going to try and pick up the rights for 24.

indubitably.

But I think she's moving on to advance her movie career. I think she's a very talented actress... they didn't use her much in 24 except for eye candy with no brains. And when they gave her brains, she sat behind a desk all season.
