Is there a rule against a bunch of worthless posts to boost your post count?

I just noticed in General Hardware a guy has the last post in 9 consecutive threads. I went into them and all his replies are "LOL" or "I agree" or something equally worthless. I know a lot of people do this but for it to be so obvious...
