Is there a remote access program that I have more control over?

Hey there.

I need to remotely access a few people. I looked on download.com and found quite a few program but it seems that I need to sign up for a service. Its probably a selling point since connecting thru the TCP/IP using IP and stuff is quite impossible.

Since most of the PC I'll be connecting to have router, hence firewall, I can't just connect thru using TCP/IP.

I'll be getting a dedicated server soon and I was wondering if there is a program out there that allows me to setup some kind of service like some of these programs. Basically something I can run that will easily let me "connect" to people. Something like alot of these services do. Give some kind of # or something that lets em connect thru.

I'm not doing this for business.. just to help some buddies out (alot of them are n00bs). It would be nice if there is a free program that does it.

Does anyone know of such a program? or better yet, a good program that won't require me to sign up for a service.

? I'm confused. The IS NO way to do remote access without TCP/IP connections, especially over the internet.

You misunderstand. What I mean is just putting their IP in and connnecting doesn't work since there are too many things in the middle.

Alot of them offer some kind of service where I paid their server to put some kind of ID on a computer and I access them directly thru that ID.
