Is there a reason to why my RAM (Corsair Value) is running at these timings?

I'm using a divider, but can I tweak my CAS latency to 2.5 safely? What are the stock timings for this RAM? 2.5-x-x-x?

ss (cpuz)

First of all have you got a link to the RAM you are using?

Are the stock timings the timings stated in the CPU-z screenie?

If the default timings is indeed a CAS of 3 at DDR400 i doubt it. The only thing you can do is just try it, and remember to up the voltage to ~2.85v

There are actually two kinds of Corsair VS memory, one rated for 2.5-3-3 and one for 3-3-3. The 3-3-3 sticks have "C3" at the end of their product codes while the 2.5 ones don't.

i bought corsair value select ddr400 from zip zoomfly rated at 2.5 cas latency and it even states so on my invoice. should i use a64 tweaker and tighten the timings?

the SPD tab of CPU-Z (stock memory) shows-

200mhz
2.5-3-3-8

but

Memory Tab shows 3-3-3-7

No just go into the BIOS and under the CAS timing change it to 2.5 or auto (as if it is a CAS of 2.5, auto will read it off of the SPD and set it accordingly .. aka CAS2.5)

SS of BIOS

There seems to be more options that I need to configure (that don't match my RAM specifications). What should I change? Is my RAM running in 2T instead of 1T (it's in 2x512)?

I?m not familiar with that BIOS, however looking at that screenie, it states that you are already running the CAS timing or ?CAS# latency (tcl)? on "auto", which would indicate that is your default CAS timings which has been read from the SPD chip, and is in actual fact a CAS of 3. If you do in fact have that certain VS memory, which is capable of running a CAS of 2.5, then I would suggest manually setting the 2.5 value within that field ?CAS# latency (tcl)?.

With regards to the 1T timings I think most BIOS?s, (well at least mine did) automatically sets the 1T/2T timing at a default of 2T,. Change this to 1T it will be fine.

Once again if you memory can indeed run a CAS of 2.5 at DDR400 then just set the said value to 2.5, I would test with memtest as well just to clarify stability without assuming so. Setting the value to 1T should be fine just go ahead and change that.
