Is there a place to buy Memtested ram?

Just bought 2GB worth of DDR1066 Corsair RAM and I get so many errors in Memtest. Is there a site out there that sells Memtested RAM so you know they don't have any errors?

Are you sure you are running that memory at the proper voltage? I know my mobo washn't running my KVR RAM at the right voltage when I first put it in. The fancy RAM generally runs at significantly higher voltage than standard (2.5V) so you may have to adjust the settings manually in the BIOS and/or measure the RAM voltage with a digital multimeter (sears has a nice one on sale this week for $20.) to make sure they have the right voltage. You for sure can get a flaky memtest if all the other settins for the RAM are correct except for the voltage.

The big name RAM manufacturers individually test their high-line modules on equipment that can do a better job than any of the software memory testers.

Ok, I just read up on the RAM and says it was tested at 2.2v

I went to the BIOS and changed the voltage from automatic to 2.17v

There was no 2.2v only 2.17v and goes straight to 2.25v, with no in-between.

Which should I go for? 2.17v or 2.25v?

Set to 2.25V - Always set a bit higher if that's the only option - generally, the higher the Voltage the faster the speed that can be handled, within limits of course.

It's still doing a lot of errors. There's so many, it pops up about a minute into memtest.

How did this go thorugh quality control...or maybe I'm doing something wrong here.

Did you take static precautions with the memory while handling and installing it?

Make sure that ram is compatible with your mb. You made need to send Corsair an email, or give them a call, but that's the first step. If the ram is supposed to be compatible then check one stick at a time in the mb. I'm guessing that only 1 stick will give you errors. If that's the case then rma the ram.

what about timings ? Why didn't anyone mention those heh, maybe his mobo is running it 1t instead of 2t ? Who knows, I'd check your timings, set them to 5-5-5-15 and you should be fine... Ram that fast usually don't do much lower timings ...

"Please be aware that not all errors reported by Memtest86 are due to bad memory. The test implicitly tests the CPU, L1 and L2 caches as well as the motherboard. It is impossible for the test to determine what causes the failure to occur. However, most failures will be due to a problem with memory module. When it is not, the only option is to replace parts until the failure is corrected."
