Is there a name/term/label for this crazy behavior?

In a discussion, we all know ad hominem, gatekeeping, what-aboutism, and so on that precisely call out what they're doing.

What do you call this behavior below- besides batpoop insane?

Person A & B have a conflicting view on a topic. Person A, in order to further validate or substantiate her view, now suddenly brings out other sensitive topics that are IRRELEVANT and aligns them to this topic. Person B now feels like he has to defend his position against suddenly numerously presented topics.

I was in a discussion on about this NK returning the person in a coma. I merely mentioned that medical examiners revealed there was no physical trauma. NK aren't stupid enough to brutally torture a white American national.

Suddenly she went on a tirade about:
- Victim blaming similar to woman dressing provocatively and getting raped (I kid you not LOL)
- I apparently have a kinship to North Koreans
- Yup, mentioned Trump (???), neither of us said anything remotely closely to current US politics prior
- Mao Zedong and post-Cultural Revolution beatings.
- Yes, Godwin's Law was invoked- "Slippery slope to Holocaust and bringing justice to German guards post-WW2"

Uhh..

In P&N, the term duh-version is commonly applied. For extreme diversions, derp works nicely.

Non sequitur is often applied though not in a strict sense.

The Red Herring (also, Distraction): An irrelevant argument, attempting to mislead an audience by bringing up an unrelated but emotionally loaded issue.

(That's actually pretty good reading.)
Ehhh I like Red Herring, but this is not quite it. The Red Herring's purpose is to misdirect & distract to lose sight of the original topic. While that is true, what I described above is more than that (i.e. make you defend against now-stacked numerous topics)

I think this is much closer. But I guess there just isn't a terminology yet for someone stacking irrelevant topics to align to his position so you now have to defend all of them.

Did you give her a look ala your avatar when she did that goofy shit? I'm not sure I'd feel responsible for defending those topics if someone did that to me. Why not just say "Uh, what does specifically and directly have to do with what we were discussing? NOTHING. Stfu"

Because it's kind of fun. She does this all the time to others and her debates always go sour. There's debating an issue vs attacking the person.

She's oblivious. I guess I'm kind of baiting her in a way.

Apparently I'm an example of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanford_prison_experiment

Turn the table on her. She basically trivializes the holocaust by bringing it into this conversation for comparison.

This sounds like a mix of the Gish Gallop and Red Herring.

OP, just stick to the subject of the discussion and let her waste her energy on stuff that's irrelevant.

The idea that some random American held in captivity for a year by NK being returned in a Coma was not caused by some kind ill treatment seems extremely unlikely to me.

Strangely enough, many North Korean prisoners reported that they were treated well, especially if they were white.

Consider the case of Matthew Todd Miller, a California man who in 2014 was sentenced to six years of forced labor in North Korea. Miller, who was released six months later, says he was actually treated rather well and even was allowed to keep his iPhone and iPad for at least a month. He listened to his digital music while in captivity.

"I was prepared for the torture. But instead of that, I was killed with kindness," he said in an interview with NK News.

Warmbier, 22, died Monday after coming back to the U.S. in a coma that lasted for 15 months of his North Korean captivity. The New York Times wrote that intelligence reports suggested Warmbier endured beatings, but doctors in the U.S. who examined him last week say his body shows no signs of physical trauma.

Miller, who was not much older than Warmbier at the time of his arrest, said he was held in what he described as a “guest house” – the same place where he said fellow American Kenneth Bae was being held. “They would deliver me food. There were other prisoners in the guest house, too. I could hear them unlocking the doors from the outside to deliver them food."

I love Zeze’s avatar. I think it’s Tommy Lee Jones from “No Country for Old Men.”

Excellent performances in that movie by all.

Right, but OP was referring to physical beatings. That probably did not occur. Maybe choking or deprived of oxygen in some other way.

If choked that also has tell tale signs of lung scarring. So i guess that's rules out as well.

Personally, he fell ill naturally which put NO in a really awkward situation and returned him asap before he died in NK soil.
