Is there a mac mini equivalent computer which is windows based?

Want to connect it to a monitor and a wireless keyb/mouse. Looking for computer which has the footprint of a mac mini but is windows based.

Dell had/has something like that, Zinio I think, and there are some Atom based units from several manufacturers.

Dell had/has something like that, Zinio I think, and there are some Atom based units from several manufacturers.

Dell doesn't sell the Zino anymore.

asrock has one, it doesn't look nearly as good though.

The new Vision HT doesn't seem too bad. My only reservation is trying to understand how noisy it is.

Well if you wanted google you could get the samsung chromebox, perhaps there is a way to put windows on it like the chromebooks.. But you may have to settle for something like a net top

This. I have one in our conference room here at work, very slick machine.

Also yeah, theres the ASRock CoreHT series (or I know theres a new line, don't remember what though).

OP, how about rolling your own? Did you actually want something cute sitting on your desk, or just something small?

I think Dustin (AnandTech case reviewer) mentioned something about an upcoming Antec ISK 110 VESA review. If you don't need discrete graphics and an optical drive (and looking at the Mac Mini means you don't) then consider waiting for that review and possibly doing a build in one of those. Ah yes, first paragraph, page 2:

stock CPU cooler
mini ITX socket 1155 motherboard of choice (make sure it is one of the newer chipsets that natively supports USB 3.0 and SATA 6G)

depends on how much horsepower you need, foxconn nta3500 is real tiny.

The Asrocks did the job for me fine. I eventually decided to commission another fanless Xeon as an i5 wasn't up to it.
