Want to connect it to a monitor and a wireless keyb/mouse. Looking for computer which has the footprint of a mac mini but is windows based.

Thanks

Dell had/has something like that, Zinio I think, and there are some Atom based units from several manufacturers.

Well if you wanted google you could get the samsung chromebox, perhaps there is a way to put windows on it like the chromebooks.. But you may have to settle for something like a net top

Perhaps, the Lenovo ThinkCentre M92[P]. Check out [1]. Or build your own, using a barebones kit?

This. I have one in our conference room here at work, very slick machine.

Also yeah, theres the ASRock CoreHT series (or I know theres a new line, don't remember what though).

If you're interested in doing some of the part buying yourself, theres the AOpen Digital Engine Series over at www.logicsupply.com

This++ Thier mini is a good deal, and their customer service is cultish good.

Hahaha, first laugh of the day. Thanks!

OP, how about rolling your own? Did you actually want something cute sitting on your desk, or just something small?

I think Dustin (AnandTech case reviewer) mentioned something about an upcoming Antec ISK 110 VESA review. If you don't need discrete graphics and an optical drive (and looking at the Mac Mini means you don't) then consider waiting for that review and possibly doing a build in one of those. Ah yes, first paragraph, page 2:
the impending review of the Antec ISK 110

socket 1155 CPU of choice
stock CPU cooler
mini ITX socket 1155 motherboard of choice (make sure it is one of the newer chipsets that natively supports USB 3.0 and SATA 6G)
dual channel 1.5v (or lower) DDR3 RAM kit of choice which fits motherboard (most use desktop DIMMs but a few use SODIMMs)
SSD of choice
Antec ISK 110 (mount behind monitor, VOILA!)

The Asrocks did the job for me fine. I eventually decided to commission another fanless Xeon as an i5 wasn't up to it.
