Is there a fee to get a phone from besides Verizon?

I have a Verizon Family Shared Plan. I want to replace one of my phones but Verizon website doesn't carry the phone I want. Can I buy it on another website like Amazon.com and then transfer that phone to my account without incurring additional fees or have to follow through with the new contract? Amazon provides the phone for free with contract.

Read the fine print. There is often a stipulation to keep the phone active on the line for a specific amount of time or AMAZON will charge you an additional fee as well as Verizon

As long as you have an available upgrade on your account, you should be fine. If you are creating a new line/account, you cannot.
