Hmm... I don't think so... You can try converting all your NTFS partitions back to FAT32, then boot off a bootdisk and install win98... I am not sure if this will work... Just a guess...

But if you wanna save your data without backing up with something like a CD writer, you have to convert them back to FAT32, or else win98 can't even read them even if they are there...

I know this isn't much help, but it's something I just thought of... Thought I would let you know...

If you were not using dynamic Disks, then I would suggest the following steps:

1. Backup data you wish to save

2. Use Partition Magic or another tool to convert NTFS to FAT32

3. Sys the C:\ to remove the Win2K boot loader

4. Delete Win2k system directories (windows or winnt)

5. Install Win9x

The unknown for me is the dynamic disks. Sorry I don't like unhelpful responses, but if anyone knows for sure whether the dynamic disks will still allow the file system conversion and will then allow Win9x to still read/write, I would be interested. Just don't know off the top my head.

Hi, i did it, sort of, oh and Rifter=Rifter1 just so ya know, the problem was the dynamic disks, win98 cant see them, and they allow you to change the File system no problem, the problem is converting them back to basic disks, to do that you have to delete ALL the partitions off them, which brings me to problem #2, it wouldnt let me delete the system partion(no kidding huh) so how do i convert it to basic? easy i dont, i reformat it with PM and i suffer the loss of all my data. Maybe. It is sitting on my 30GB drive right now wheich i out it on after i started all this mess, its a 30GB HD formatted with FAT32. Problem is win98 doesnt see it, well it sees it but its got all screwed up characters and nothing looks right. Question, why cant win98 see it? answer, i dunno, i have been at this for hours, since my first post actually, i fought hard to get it to boot to a dos prompt(you try that with win2k) anyways im going to bring the HD upstairs to my dads comp tommorow which is running win2k and see if i can read the disk, if i can then ill transfer data off it over the network, if not i guess ill have to take the loss.
