so my ankle has been given me trouble lately. kinda feels like it wants to dislocate or something. the weird part is that its fine when im running. but it feels weak when im just walking around (specifically, the front of my ankle).

also, if im standing and bend my knee, i can feel a slight pop in my ankle (which i dont get on my other leg). but my ankles have always kinda cracked/popped randomly, so i dont know if thats new or not.

two things happend at the same time a couple weeks ago that could have caused this, or could just be coincidences:

1. i got a new pair of running shoes, with above average arch support.

2. i was sitting on my leg (you know how you can kinda tuck one leg under the other when you are sitting at the computer or something) and when i stood up, it kinda hurt and felt outta place. same thing happend a couple days later, but the pain increased.

anyhow, my knee has been feeling a little odd recently (no pain), probably because im favoring the leg.

normally, i would just stop running and let whatever is wrong heal, but i need to get in shape in the next month, so thats not really an option.

any thoughts, suggestions?

Update

so i ended up getting an x-ray. apparently i have something called an avulsion fracture.

anybody have something like this before? did it give you a lot of trouble or did it kinda just go away.

my doc did say that i could probably continue to run, but i had to stop softball/basketball because of all the lateral movement.

If you live in Canada go see a doctor :D .

If you live in the states, wait till it's broken for sure.

Go get it checked out. Leaving injuries like that will own you in the long run years from now.

are you kidding, do you know how much it'll cost to go see a doctor. i have a $10 copay!!! thats insane. :p

seriously though, the doc will probably just tell me to rest it, which, as i said, is not an option. just wondering if any runners had a similar situation. i ran x-country in highschool, but never ran into this before.

Ten dollars? That's outrageous. How do you afford it?

$10 is my copay also.;)
