Is there a DNET client for Win2K?

When ever I try to run the RC5 client in Win2K my computer freezes on boot up. I only saw Windows 32 and Windows 3.1 available for download. Everything is formatted in FAT32. Any ideas? Thanks. 🙂

When you installed the client, did you install it as a Service? That is the only way it could possible affect the boot sequence. If it is truly the cause of your boot problems, check the Event Viewer to see what errors are showing. If it isn't clear, post the error info here, and let us have a look. I have used DNETC in many versions (final and beta) in Win2K (final and beta) and never had similar problems.

I wonder if there is any API in Win2k not found in Win9x or WinNT that would benifit the DNET client at all, if so, i say there should definetly be a Win2k only client to take advantage of it. But i have a feeling such API is highly unlikely.

Strictly speaking, Microsoft have put forward all the info needed for all the Win32 API. Problem is, when programmers start trying to do things differently using back-door commands in one OS, this can lead to instability in another OS.

I have the DNET client (not just the latest one) running on several Win2KPro PCs, no problems whatsoever. No problems on restarts (cold and warm) and one has been up for 53 days. 🙂

Double check to make sure you are running the Win32 client. 🙂

Try running the client as a service, and not as a service to see if that will effect the boot-up.
Uninstall the client and see if you are still getting boot-up problems. Have you installed anything else around the same time? Updated drivers, etc.?

Running Windows2k now for almost 2 years here (from Beta2) and never had any problems with the client which cause reboots/freezes. The only problem was not shutting down correctly when rebooting, but that was only 1 release.
