Is there a difference between the HP dv1000 and the HP dv1040us?

I was just wondering if there was any difference between the HP DV1000 series from Hpshopping and the HP dv1040US from bestbuy?

thx

The dv1000 refers to the entire series of notebooks with different specifications made by HP. (i.e. all same size/make, but with diff CPU, RAM, HDD, etc etc). The dv1040 is a particular model of the dv1000 series that was made specifically for retail stores. you can custom order your own dv1000 thru best buy or HP and it will at that point be "just" a dv1000, but a custom one. If another retail store had their own particular dv1000 model, it might have a diff model number (like dv1060 or whatever) but still be a dv1000 series. hope this clears it up
