I've contemplated a vasectomy but after working so long on the land (and making a living journal about my grandfathers/grandmothers) I now realize that hired help just can't be trusted (besides Jack Kerouac). My motive is to become sustainable. I can't work my land without 'people' and I'd rather have my family for companionship than strangers. Both sides of my family had very large families BECAUSE they were a cheap source of labor (it really does sound sordid when you distill it down to this level). Oh-well. I was actually joking about polygamy. Three children are enough for my needs. Multiple wives would be absolute torture.

So you want to start a commune and you will be its fearless leader? Since you don't want anymore kids and don't want multiple wives but yet you don't trust strangers, perhaps you could recruit some members from ATOT??? Count me out though.

Oh, and did anybody else read "living journal" as "live journal"?

He said polygamy but I don't think he was talking women.

Hey, go for it. If you're so convinced the world is going to end and that your measures are appropriate, who are we to tell you no?

It's not a commune and I wouldn't ask you SmootchyTX.

You look like a young Walt Whitman Boomer! A sage, and empathetic at the same moment of understanding, you seem to be. :)

My sadness underscores many of my actions (I've been reading Carl Jaspers) though I try to use the clear understanding of a world moving beyond the core values of hippihood as a transient foundation for action.

The pics you sent me to invite me. Currently I am using two marbles as eyes.

You're a liar too? I've only met one other member that liked to lie (Booberfelt).

Take a leap and get the hell out of my threads lad.

I'm replying to 'Talcumfist'.

The kool-aid analogy is a logical fallacy-irrelevant conclusion. Ad hominem is also an invalid method of attacking my propositions. I've not yet seen a valid argument to the proposition that our earth can't sustain our global population and that the American way of life isn't tenable.

I get attacked daily because of what I write about every single one of of you living an unsustainable lifestyle. I've never propounded that I live sustainably. If I didn't I would create a thread about such a change. If one doesn't have any respect for the population in which he/she lives does that world view circumscribe him/her as being a nihilist? I don't think so.

The amount of cognitive dissonance and/or trolling is frightening.

Cognitive dissonance isn't an appropriate description of what's happening in this thread.

Some of use have transcended cogency. :)

Read some Plotinus grasshopper.

http://www.britannica.com/eb/a...2/cognitive-dissonance

the mental conflict that occurs when beliefs or assumptions are contradicted by new information. The unease or tension that the conflict arouses in a person is relieved by one of several defensive maneuvers: the person rejects, explains away, or avoids the new information, persuades himself that no conflict really exists, reconciles the differences, or resorts to any other defensive means of preserving stability or order in his conception of the world and of himself.

Britannica is a boy's best friend until he discovers that his world view has been bracketed by definitions that he has used to describe his life. You have many miles, women, loves, forests, and thoughts to travel SR.

Thanks for the crappy link though. :)

Sorry, I haven't taken the time to read through the thread. What exactly is Rogo arguing for?

For rogo.

There are many who seek a solution.

Humanity will figure it out. That is my "faith". Optimistic and foolish though it may seem.

Be at peace.

Rogo...you need to adopt the Scorched Earth attitude...
http://www.armory.com/~crisper/Scorch/index.html

Here at the Scorched Earth Party, we are dedicated to a few simple principles:

that the concept of "life is sacred" is the best joke we've heard this year.
that nothing satisfies like clubbing some moron to death with a lead pipe.
that you can never get laid enough.
that the world will continue to deteriorate until 90% of its population is eliminated.

Your post is the most appropriate and completely understood, by me, that I've seen in 32000 years of ATOT bullshit!

I'm glad I've met at least one person, on these forums, that understands my sarcasm and my way of life.

Thank You.
