Is there a difference between ata100 and ata133 cables?

My intuition say no, but I'm not sure...

I see sites selling 66/100/133 cables (which I think are probably ata100 cables) and "true" ata133 cables (newegg).

Is there a difference? Currently I have an ata100 cable on my ata133 controller (KT3 Ultra). Should I bother buying a "true" ata133 cable?

Aren't cables just pieces of metal, usually copper or aluminum inside plastic? That should answer your question

Not if it's more expensive than a comprable ata66/100 cable. An 80 wire IDE cable, round or flat, will do ata 133/100/66/33. Buy rounded cables for their looks, and to aid airflow inside the case.

Thanks! That's pretty much what I figured.

I just set up the MSI KT Ultra in my rig - nice board. Very fast, but I'm only getting a burst rate of 43 max for hdtach. Oh well, system's running great and is fast so I guess I won't get hung up on the synthetic marks.
