I'm talking about body weight only - high rep (like 3 sets of 20). Assume good form.
If you have a more advanced form of chondromalacia (grade III'ish) that normally doesn't bother you too much other than crepitus and a little popping after longer runs (yes 20 - 25 mile a week runner 40 -50 mile a week cyclist) - and you are in your upper 30's age wise and of normal weight (5 ft 11 - 175lbs) are air squats and reverse lunges good or bad for the condition of your knees.
I've read many different viewpoints - even from seemingly reputable sources, heard different opinions, etc. Who to believe?
