I can't seem to find anything that will do this properly. I downloaded Go SMS Pro which is great apart from the no GV thing. I get texts from both sides and would like each text I reply to to go through the number it came from. It's not a big deal, but it'd make life a tad easier.

i don't think any app can sync with GV i have look and tried all the ones i could find, i don't have txt plan cuz i feel like is redundant paying $30 a month when i can have it for free.
I too would like to know if there is any decent app.

The GV api is not open to let other programs use it as regular texts.

You need to just switch to your GV number full time.

I killed my texting plan, and just substituted the icon for GV for the text icon, also, set GV up to send a copy to your gmail account, and you'll always have a back up of your texts...

So how much of a pain is it using GV for texts? I mean I know it isn't a great messaing app for sure from the times I have used it. Doesn't seem threaded or anything. I have been thinking of swapping to Verizon even with the stupid ass data cap if they get the Nexus Prime first. However, I will not pay $30 for sms... that's fucking robbery. Do you just need to use the GV app for all the texts? There is no way to use go sms or any of those with GV huh? Ugggggg I don't like either solution so far.

the google voice app is definitely threaded. it automatically manages threads/creates a new one for the contact after some time though. no way to manage this manually, but it works well enough, and it is FREE!

Using the GV app is just like using any other text message app, although it's probably not as nice as the custom SMS apps like Chomp or whatever.

The *only* thing bad about using GV for texts (imho) is that you need a data connection to use. Which can be an issue depending on where you are.

K thanks for the info, I wasn't aware it was threaded as I haven't used it for much beyond voice mails.

It's also nice to be able to text from the gvoice web app when you're at your computer, instead of typing stuff out on your phone
