and this

It seems mobo manufactureres had been giving out leaky faulty capacitors. My Epox 8RDA+ has leaking capacitors too. I found ABIT class action lawsuit and one for MSI, but none for EPOX. Any suggestions on how to handle this?!?! Anyone else had this problem?

i have an 8k3a+ where the capacitors began leaking about 2 months ago. From what others have told me, Epox will still RMA the motherboard for you even though it's past the warranty period. But only for leaky capacitors. I'll find out for sure on Monday.

I think it's stupid that the motherboard makers are being sued, especially those who have owned up to these problems and tried to help customers. The makers of the faulty capacitors ought to be instead, for negligence in using a stolen, incomplete formula.

I've had several ABIT boards go sideways on me due to leaky caps.

I ever tried replacing the caps on my VP-6. Unfortunately, in the end I toasted the board.

(I should have used my GOOD soldering iron...)

The makers of the faulty capacitors/suspension component ought to be [sued] instead...

No wait. That only would apply when it's a Jap-mobile ox being gored!

The entire electronics industry is under siege from the leaky caps problem. PLEASE don't sue the mobo manufacturers, that only hurts us all. The company that made the caps, however... Sink them like the GDMF Titanic.

don't know how it works in the motherboard industry but i can pretty much guarantee that in the auto industry even though the manufacturer will repair the defect you can be positive that if the supplier was at fault they are reimbursing the manufacturers. If Fords supplier is truly at fault you can be certain that that supplier is being billed for every penny it costs Ford maybe more. If the motherboard manufacturers aren't able to to the same thing than I would have some serious questions about their methods of qualifying their suppliers.

I know exactly what you mean, Mike. But, I'm less concerned about those details, than how these things shake out on this board. If ASUS has board problems because of bad parts, well, it MUST be the supplier's fault. If FORD has suspension problems because of bad parts...

Class Action is a joke to all except the Lawyers and Companies that profit form the Coruption.

I was the lead plaintaiff representing all of North American Consumers in the 300,000 bad Fujitsu Hard Drive Fiasco.

Was was the outcome?

Fujitsu was supposed to dole out $45 per person that suffered from the loss of the faulty drives.

4 years later no one has seen a penny except for the Lawyers.

I'm sure this Attorney Corporation on Long Island cleaned up nicely from this:

I had to RMA my 8RDA+ to EPOX over 3 weeks ago, still no progress! The board was still under warranty, but EPOX is really slow turning it around. Probably got a lot of the same boards with crappy caps. Why were board manufacturers not held accountable for this nonsense?

Problem is, after the problems were found, the manufacturers, KNOWING THE PROBLEM EXISTED, did nothing. The mobo mfgs can go after the capacitor comps...
