I think I'm going to need a new mobo and CPU now. But I don't want to buy new RAM now - save it for later. Is there a board that can support both types of RAM?

Go to www.msi.com.tw At the top, you'll see an ad that says "Strongest DDR ever". Click on it, and it'll take you to msi's ddr boards. They have two that have 3 DDR slots and 2 SDRAM slots. One of them is for PIII's and the other is for AMD's.

<< Wow, I wasn't aware that intel supports DDR! >>

Intel supports DDR (or should I say QDR?) with Rambus.

The DDR MSI board uses the VIA Apollo Pro 266 chipset. I believe that Intel (or is that VIA only?) is releasing a DDR SDRAM chipset for P4 some time next year.

Has anyone tried MSI K7MG Pro (MS-6375) with ALi chipset? This is the one with both DDR and SDR RAM support.
