Is there a big difference b/w MCP and MCP-T??

I am lookign to do a budget upgrade, and it seems a 2500 Barton and an NF2 should do the trick. I am currently using a SB LIve! for sound, and want to build another box with the parts I have left over. The question is -- is the MCP-T (like the NF7 -s ) worth it over the MCP (shuttle an35)? I only use headphones - so is there a performance difference?

Things I am looking for:
Onboard sound (or should i use the live?) - should be decent
onboard lan

Don't need:
Firewire
SATA

Well main advantages are,

The onboard sound is driven by nVidia's MCP-T, which means users get real time Dolby Digital Encoding and lower processor utilization as opposed to the regular MCP.

Does any one know about how low the CPU usage? And is it better to just plunk down the extra $40 on and OEM audigy?
