yes. to the hot schoolteacher.

btw, from my experience, older Italien guys had no qualms about taking advantage of much younger tourist girls while I was there.

No, because you're more likely to know if a person you know has STD's or not. If you know the person, you're in a better position to make a more informed decision.

This is about probability. Not everyone has the same probability of having a disease. I'd imagine that a street whore has a *slightly* higher probability of having something that a nun.

I honestly have no idea whether the people I know are crawling with STDs or not.

I don't hang around that kind of crowd. The people I know aren't the promiscous type who put themselves at high risk. If one of my friends started sleeping around and putting himself in shady situations, he would not be my friend since people like that disgust me. While no behavior makes you immune to STD's or make you guaranteed to get them, you can manage your risk by controlling your behavior.

It's the same principle as when they measure radiation exposure- you're not guaranteed to get cancer if you subject yourself to xxx rads of radiation, and you're not immune to cancer if you minimize your exposure, but you *can* manage risk, and we do know that people who are subjected to lower doses of radiation are less probable to get cancer than those who are subjected to higher doses.

With sleeping around with strangers, you don't know who has an STD and who doesn't. You could get something from the first person you date. But we do know that your risk is much higher if you sleep with 100 people than if you sleep with 1 person. And we also know that your risk is higher if you don't use a condom than if you do.

A 17 year old who sleeps around indiscriminately with a 35 year old bus driver in Italy is not off to a good start.

You can say the same thing about the kids who were shooting bottle rockets at cars, or the people street racing, or people that get diseases while sleeping around.

She can have all the fun she wants, but do not ask for sympathy when she gets herself in trouble, because that's her own people.

The problem with today's society is that people want to be able to act without regard to consequence, and they want other people to get them out of the hole they dug themselves into.

It's not the fact that she had sex, it's the fact that she had sex with some random guy.

Right, because no one since the beginning of time has ever had sex with a random partner.

No, but you're far more likely to know IF they have an STD.

I find this hilarious... I was literally in Italy on a 10 day tour. I hooked up with an 18 year old on my tour bus. She was pretty much begging me to take her virginity, but I didn't want her to lose it to a guy shes not in a relationship with. But thats still hilarious especially after seeing those bus drivers. HAHAHA.

Right, and having sex with random partners doesn't increase your chance of getting sexually transmitted diseases

You may *think* that, but there's a lot you don't know about even your closest friends.

The chances of a person that you *think* is not promiscuous actually being promiscuous is still less than the chances of a person that you *know* is promiscuous being promiscous.

You miss the point - you probably know a lot of people that you would define as promiscuous, but you don't even know that they are. People don't wear their STDs on their sleeves.

I think it would be a more special memory to her later in life if her first time was with some sort of "childhood/highschool sweetheart", but as long as she's happy about it, it doesn't really matter.
Probably was a better overall experience with an experienced man than the two pumps she would have gotten from a high school boy.

You're missing my point. While it is possible that I know someone who is promiscuous without me knowing, that chance is far less than a person that I *know* is promiscuous being promiscuous.

If I knew that they were, I wouldn't associate with them. So that does weed a lot of people out. You can never be 100% accurate, but if you weed out the ones that are obvious, that still goes a long way.

So yesterday my gf's 17 year old cousin called. She just got back from a three week European trip (something to do with school). Anywho she informed my girlfriend that on the trip she lost her virginity to a 35 year old Italian bus driver (apparently this guy was the bus driver for their tours).

My girlfriend was aghast (partly because before she left for the trip I told her to do something stupid in Europe. I didn't think she'd take it to heart), I thought it was really cool. To me, if I were 17, losing my virginity on some exotic trip to some older female would just be the cat's pajamas. It sure would beat the hell out of my experience of losing it after prom in my mom's basement after two 40s of Old English 800. What do you guys think?

guys a pig...
35 - 17 he deserves to be drawn and quartered
Glad to see I am not the only one noticing that Guido should now be a registered sex offender...

I am confused..this was in Italy..where the laws are different. Explain.

This is anandtech. Where is the "still a virgin" option? (not for me I already voted.)

That's the best she could do?

Weak.

That's what I thought as well.

I'd like to see pictures of the supermodels that you guys lost your virginity to, because apparently that's the least you two gods among men will settle for!
