friend is looking to set up a dedicated windows 7/8 machine, but wants to access it via his macs that he has with something like splashtop. he has tried splashtop but didnt like some things about it.
would like full screen, or close to it as possible. also, running several windows-only games via steam is important as well. does such software exist for mac? i dont know too much about this stuff.

I don't think there is a commercially available game quality remote solution, but I'd imagine you'd need LAN speeds to achieve that. But some other popular ones are

TeamViewer
LogMeIn
VNC
RDP

thanks,

i'm open to other suggestions to achieve the same, or nearly the same result. right now he uses parallels but this is the second time something got corrupted and he lost his files.

probably not a good solution for fps but i was thinking something like turn-based strategy might be feasible.

Yeah, even over LAN, non of those will be good enough for anything more action-oriented than Civilization.

A KVM would be better. I prefer Mac OS too, but have a Windows rig at home, and it's not like I break out in hives when I touch it.
