Is there a audio plug to usb adapter?

I just wanted to know if there was an adapter that will let me connect a microphone that has a standard audio jack to a usb plug.

Well..the type of adapter you are thinking of doesnt exist..but there is probably a somewhat inexpensive device that will take the 1/8th inch plug and somehow convert into a signal fit to be transferred through USB, but then a program would have to decode it.

Did that make sense? Definitely not.

Punch in USB Micriphone in Google and look...there's plenty solutions

Link works fine for me with both FF and IE6. I am not seeing anything asking about a password at all?!?

I browsed to the item and the site added a little more info to the url(which has been edited) so maybe it'll fix the password thing you were seeing. :shrug;

Crazy, it works for me now too. Did I just catch them during a server glitch? A window popped up asking for username and password authentication, and it wouldn't let me go any further.

In that case it's probably your internet browser. If you are/were a college student, there may have been a time in which you set up a proxy in order to access the school library database. Or, maybe you have a proxy set up to access SOME kind of database. When the websites you go to aren't agreeable, sometimes a password window pops up.
