Is there a adware-free AIM and YIM??

I'm sick of these ads in AIM. I don't know if YIM has any but I can't see them which is fine with me.
I know there is trillian, but I hate that interface.

TIA if there are any available.

Miranda...bloat-free with no ads and plenty of plugins.

**Confirmed**

Judging from that sponsers list that means there are ads?

there are no ads (screen shots on the right hand side), its opensource freeware, one of the many great free programs available from sourceforge.net

Awesome just DLed it.

how about blocking the ads in AIM? you can just add a few entries into your host file so that no ads come up.

I agree... everytime I mouse_over the little ad on the upper portion of the IM Buddy List, a freak ad pops up. So annoying.

Ok I'm using Miranda here, I dont' know how to transfer files, or direct connect or use any of the features of AIM. Even the smilies are missing. 😕

take a look at miranda's many plug ins, if it is not there by default, there is a plug in for it. Some of us dont like smilies and consider it bloat, anything extra is probably going to be turned off and you will have to look for it in options or you will have to get a plug in.

Try the official AIM web based client:

Aim Website

Look under "Keep In Touch" on the left hand side and select "AIm Express". No install required.

I use it all the time and it works great.
