Is the Zalman better than the Silencer for an X800 GTO2?

From what I hear the Zalman cools the GPU itself a little better, but the AC Silencer is quieter and exhausts hot air out of the case. I've used an NV5 on my old 6800GT, but one of the posts was broken so I wasn't getting optimal cooling. It was quiet as anything tho.

If your case is well ventilated, I'd get a Zalman. If it isn't, get an AC Silencer.

I just bought the X800 GTO2 and the Zalman ZF700-CU.
I already had a Chieftec full tower case.
And I'm only able to get to about a 530/595 without any artifacts.
I'm just looking for more, maybe this card is at it's overclocking limit.

one question, is the stock cooler enough for overclocking the GTO2? Would an aftermarket heatsink be needed and if so, how much more can you overclock with it? What were the temps with the stock and with the aftermarket, thanks

I love the zalman cooler! I have it on my 6600GT. My record was 4055 in 3dmark 05, while overclocked to (you'll think i'm crazy, but i'm not), 610/1260. While running the test, my max temp was 43C, and my idle temp was 34C.

EDIT: I had the window open, it was about 38F outside, and I had a fan on high blowing the air from outside right onto the computer which had its case open.

Sorry, I know this isn't a choice you've given, but the Thermalright V1 is an awesome cooler if it will fit. My brother has one on a 6800nu @410/930 with the full 16 pipes and it loads at ~50C.
