looking to pay nearly $300 for the 7800gt from XFX, looking for a good card that'll run games like F.E.A.R., BF2, WoW, and such on good high setting in a new rig I'm building.

Looking to spend at absolute MOST $300, trying to lower the cost of the rig though, Just need input on this. Also if anyone could recommend a good mobo for around $120 for an AMD 939 (4200+ Manchester Core)

Here's the rig, minus the mobo so far, trying to spend under $1400 and the second power supply is for another computer.

you must have accidentally posted as i don't see the rig, but the 7800gt is the best bet for $300

I've got the XFX 7800GT. It's a nice card but even oc'ed a little it can't do F.E.A.R well at 1600x1200 with all the eye candy (AA/ AF high-detail all) turned on.

7800gt is the $300 card of choice for the discerning gamer. EDIT: Robor is correct, though it should be noted that only the 7800gtx 512 and x1900xt can handle those settings in FEAR reasonably well. And that's for $150-$200 more.

A couple of AMD 939 boards to consider:
MSI Neo4-F
Asus A8N5X

Well hopefully only playing on 1280x1024 will make it better. Damn those FEAR bastards trying to ruin my game... I'm upgrading from a P4 2.8 system with a gig of RAM and a 9600XT... so I hope it'll be awe-inspiring...

Be sure to buy an UDF-7 XFX 7800GT and it will rock ;)
1280x1024 with 2xTrAA is the best res you can use confortably with this chip though in FEAR.
