Is the word "crap" a swear word?

damn is probably even worse than crap because crap is just a coarse way of saying poop and a nicer way to say shit

Well, The first answer was half right, you are a sinner, so that's why I voted for it 😛

No, crap is not a swear word.

My mom used to not like when we said it, but she got over it as soon as she realized its convenience. This coming from someone who sits in an office where expletives are screamed across the hall 🙂

It's worse than "poop," but it's about as benign a curse word as you can use. Roughly on par with "damn."

I'd say it's more on a par with darn than damn.

this

More so, yes, BUT in truly refined society one could utter "darn" but NOT "crap."

Lol at all you culturally insular kiddies who literally don't know this.

was referring to another, non-cell phone related product* as crap and they warned me for it.

What a load of of solid human waste! I think you should invite them to go have sexual congress with themselves.

*Although why you felt the need to refer to Big Bob's Motherfucking Sweet Hot Sauce in a cell phone thread is beyond me.

hehe, i should explain that the product in question can be used in conjunction with a cell phone, or more particular, cell phone accessories, but is not exclusive to cell phones or their accessories.

Nope. Neither is 'piss' which some of my childhood friends were yelled at for saying at times.

And I'd yell at my kids if I caught them saying it too. It's not a bad thing to teach your kids to speak in a polite manner, so they are used to doing so when it's necessary.

i dont yell at mine for saying it, but we do have conversations about how crude they sound when using words like this. they are also expected to speak politely to all adults, as well as in front of adults. i know how they are when they are in a group without adults, no way is that ever going to change.

All words that represent a negative feeling are a swear word.

"Frickin' A!" is swearing.

The sensitivity depends on how you were raised as a child, and which words/phrases were used.

If the FCC allows it, it is probably not a swear word.

BTW, the FCC allows things like 'A-hole', 'Frickin' A' and even 'He was being a dick'.

Just because a word isn't a "swear word" doesn't mean it is a good idea to say it.

I don't curse ever, but that doesn't mean that I don't have a way of tearing someone down verbally. If you aren't building someone up with your statement, then it probably isn't the best thing to say.

for you parents not wanting your kids to swear you may want to not let them have "I wanna fuck you" as a ringtone.

I'd guess they had a problem with it because it's likely an all ages forum. prolly lot of kiddies on there posting about their cell phones.
