Is the US slowly dying?

Yes. Funny thing is we helped make Chine what it has and will become.

So their success is our victory?

I think China's days are numbered in that eventually the people are going to overthrow the government. Once the economy isn't centrally planned and doesn't exploit the population, it will be harder to maintain that growth rate. I for one would not want economic success at the price the Chinese are paying.

According to DoD documents, the Chinese view the USA as a declining power.

I happen to believe they are correct but mostly because of the harm we have done to ourselves.

The USA is dying. It will be gone as we know it within 50 years I estimate.

Factor in corruption (bailouts for wall street anyone?), national debt, outsourcing, manufacturing gone, etc. The middle class is dying, and there has to be a middle class for this country to survive. Any successful country or power in the world has to have a strong middle class.

Yes, we are slowly dying. Liberals and democrats have turned us into a welfare country where everyone expects things to be given to them and they don't expect to have to work for it.
It will only get worse after Obama wins his re-election.
Soon the founding fathers will be rolling in their graves if they aren't already.

The US is a declining power. The signs are numerous. Dying is probably to strong of a word though, more like "our best days are behind us".

Declining and will continue to decline for the next 50 years. By that time standard of living all over the world except for Africa and maybe the middle east will have risen and we'll have fallen so as to have a somewhat level playing field.

That depends on how you define #1.

In terms of dollar value of goods manufactured the U.S. is number one. But the Chinese are stealing a shit ton of IP. When they being producing airliners and other high value goods better and cheaper than the U.S... we will effectively have one foot in the grave.

Ya, it looks as if the US has been mortally wounded. But the will to fight and survive is strong. And really China is not in much better shape either. They could soon face the same problem that Japan is facing. Their one child policy has created a lopsided population which will eventually come back to haunt them. And then there is their artificially valued currency.... In short we've all got problems, some just seem more imminent than others.

Have you been to China?
One word - cesspool.

I've travelled through China. In no way would I call it a Cesspool.

1.
A covered hole or pit for receiving drainage or sewage, as from a house.
2. A filthy, disgusting, or morally corrupt place.

Sounds more like the city of Chicago. ^_^
