Wait till the interest rates go up to about 8% when infation hits and the government can no longer afford the debt payment. They cant really pay the debt now. They just keep borrowing a trillion or two a year.

I went to lunch today and all the prices had gone up in the cafeteria. I need a raise just to break even.

Dont worry when the bush tax cuts expire you will just be paying higher taxes so the government will borrow even more money our kids will never be able to pay back.

Is the U.S. Headed Toward Bankruptcy?

Grover Norquist – Founder and President, Americans for Tax Reform

I’m very optimistic, because for the first time one of the parties actually has a plan that will reform entitlements and give us a pro-growth economic policy. And that hasn’t been true before. We don’t have two parties with that, but we have one.

If Romney’s elected along with a Republican House and Senate, then you can do something like the Romney and Ryan proposals on tax reform and spending reform and we do a u-turn way from the road to serfdom.

If the Democrats have the Senate or the presidency, you end up with higher taxes

There’s a decision and people will decide in November, you want bigger government and higher taxes or smaller government and lower taxes? I’m confident the American people will choose wisely.

Dear Davemcdipshit,

You cannot 'grow' an economy unless you:
1. Export
2. Grow your population

Our population is growing very very slowly. Our export market is being destroyed by cheaper overseas competition, and our 'high technology' exports are being copied so fast it would make your head spin.

It's time for "people" (and I use that term loosely) to understand that our policies need to be based around what we are making now, doing now, and spending now. We should not be basing our policies on expecting growth, other than growth proportionate to inflation.

You are an idiot. We are not in a recession. This is the reality of our economy without a real-estate boom or a tech-bubble. Deal with it.

I haven't tried top make this discussion about anything. I am just correcting your errors and pointiing out your hatred of everything that isn't government. And seeing as how you hate all Republicans and probably a good deal of Democrats too, thyere isn't much you don't hate.

So why is it I have to hate everything when I only claim they are enemies of this country? If you hire illegals to cut costs, you're an enemy to this country. If you make billions in profits yet outsource jobs and don't offer affordable healthcare, you are an enemy to this country. If you pay minimum wage at franchises that make millions a year, then you are an enemy to this country.

Since when did it become OK to shit on this country in the name of profit? I'm not all in favor of government, but I am also not going to sit here and pretend that most of this is on their shoulders when it clearly is not.

Now, since I keep debating with you and you just keep calling me a hater, answer this question for me. Whom do you think is to blame for the state this country is in now, Obama?

You are lumping all small business and even large corporations together and accusing them of doing something that a very very small portion of them do.

I blame a lot of people for the mess we are in but it is just that, BLAME. I don't want to spend another 4 years blaming Bush or whoever, I want some solutions.

We have solutions. Stay the course, bring back Glass-Steigel, raise taxes on the top 2%. It won't magically fix everything but it could keep us from going bankrupt and prevent 2008 from happening again anytime soon. Obviously, this is not everything we could do but it would be a solid kickstart.

The economy is not in the crapper as bad as certain people pretend it is...we just need to quit spending such ridiculous amounts on non-productive things and make people pay realistic taxes.
