n00b is an offensive term used to make whomever posted the remark feel better about his/herself when he/she can't contribute anything but a high post count.

QFT -- Proof beyond any shadow of a doubt? Isn't Nik up to like 47K+ posts? :Q j/k

Noob is short for newbie which in itself was a term of endearment to reference people that are new a subject matter. Then after awhile of people saying newbie and not wanting to sound cute.. because anything that ends with IE is too cute sounding it was shortened to n00b by the l337 h4x0rs. Then it was no longer a term of endearment and was mainly used to describe someone you call a moron on a subject matter and not a n00b (both of which could be the same in terms of their knowledge but this assumes a true newbie will learned when exposed to a subject long enough where a moron will not). N00b and moron are getting to be synonomous, especially with the 10-18 year old crowd of male boys. Not to mention it's a Four letter word and we all know four letter words are bad..mmmkay.

What I don't get is the over use of young people, 10-18, of girls and guys that use the internet while literally using internet acronym lingo as real words. I play on a few games and listen to a few different ventrillo and teamspeak servers. First off, these kids voices are so high pitched they make my ears bleed and then they keep spouting crap off like L. O. L. and G. G. all the time and stupid crap like that. It's so retarded and annoying. Not to mention I'm hearing people in conversasions, like girls, talking about real life stuff in real life and using this crap. I don't like walking around a bookstore to here the high pitched harpy screech of a 13 year old girl saying, ROFL while talking with others of her type.
