is the SeaSonic X Series X650 Gold getting to be older technology?

The big question is why is it not available on Newegg for purchase? Has it been recalled?

Might not be compatible with certain motherboards. My Seasonic X 650 wouldn't work right with my old Asus P5Q Premium 775 board.

EDIT: have you checked Seasonics web pg?

You wrote that they have the exact same rail on both PSUs, I was adding that the only difference was that they optimized a few minor things like the heat spreader, etc. Why would you start to argue over this?

I'm not following your logic. Whatever. I don't understand how your answer above makes any sense. It doesn't, I guess.

hi im building my first pc and i also was curious of the differences between the x650 and 660 from what i read here seems like not really any significant difference my local micro center has the 660 so im interested in that

but i am also concerned like the op about it being deactivated on newegg..was there any problems with this psu?

he added info about why they changed the name. makes sense to me. not every response is a counterpoint.

Hello, iamloco724. Welcome to the Anandtech forums 🙂

I on one hand don't know enough to tell you why they deactivated it. Maybe someone here does. But currently you are limited to the posters in this thread, which is not a bad thing but my point is you could start a new topic asking why. You'd probably get more responders, or you can ask on the JohnnyGuru forums. Every once in a while an editor/writer will respond to a thread like Oklahomawolf or Johnny.

Cheers

This thread has the differences between the 50 vs 60 models.

I never claimed it was a counterpoint. I asked what it has to do with what I said, he could've said "it doesn't actually". That it was just additional info that was not actually relevant to my post but he quoted it anyway. Instead he defended his reply as if it was a counterpoint after all, which I didn't understand at all. As I said earlier, he started arguing about it, I just asked what his point had to do with whether X-660 is 660W in name only or not
