The Quick Reply box is back for me. Using Firefox 1.0. I didn't change anything. It just showed up in the last 5 minutes or so.
 
It's working here in the computer lab, I'm running Firefox v 0.8.

At home it didn't work (v 1.0) yesterday but I see people's are starting to so maybe it will...
