Is the news media biased, or just stupid on firearms?

You sound mad...perhaps you should put action behind your empty words...then I migh listen to you...scared little boy..afraid without his gun...

I doubt you were in the military.

People that were in the military are supposed to learn respect.

Funny their hear boys talk about the military...and even more funny that the pro-gun people only hav lies in their defense.

"My handgun is for defence in case of invasion.."...LOL

Kiddys!

Troll, troll, troll your boat.

You have no idea why I have firearms. You probably have no concept of what individual freedom is like.

Interesting how he keeps ducking and dodging your responses to him. The dude is obviously using a "appeal to authority" to push his flawed views.

Yea, he's scured up in hur, and even being on ignore, that post that rapes him was quoted by someone that's not, he's just weak.

Or he has been on my ignore...you do know how that works right? 🙂

Because you don't want to confront anyone that can refute what you have to say or who can toss aside your "I was in the military, I know what is right, I'm a man and you're not!" bullshit reasoning. I got it.

No, bacuse there were an influx of nuggets make the same false argumetns.
I clean up then, so I onlly have to deal with a limited number of the same retardness.

Funny, how so many lies are being used in defense of owning guns..makes you wonder.

So why do you own a gun?

I hunt, target shoot, and live in a rural area where I have livestock, chickens to be exact.

I use my firearms to hunt deer, small game, and to protect my chickens.

What type of background check did you have to do in order to get those guns?

Local sheriff does a background check.

The seller of the firearm takes my ID, calls the local sheriff, who does a background check. The process usually only takes a few minutes.

Glad I don;t have to wait for that any more...having a CC permit with extensive background check means no waiting😀

Funny how you figure Texas can have an opinion on guns and dismiss mine.
It looks to me like Texas and I have very similar stories except I'm living in a city now

Weren't you going outside to play with your moose? At least he's an American living in America so yeah, having an opinion on guns in America is something he might know about...you watching TV not so fucking much

With all of the recent crime, I am seriously considering getting a CC permit.
I can't see a downside to having one except the time it takes for the class and paying for it...I swear I'm in the Bermuda triangle of mass shootings here so who knows when it will happen again, but I guess Nidal was pretty recent so maybe it will be a few more years

I think mostly they're just ignorant. This is an entirely WAG, but I'd say that most media types didn't grow up shooting guns/hunting/playing shooter videogames. They know about guns from watching the news (which likes to sensationalize to get ratings) and movies. So they hear "semi-automatic" and think of 100 round/minute machine guns. They think nobody could ever use a couple thousand rounds of ammo for anything other than murderous rampages or militia showdowns with the government. They see black rifles and assume they are somehow more "deadly" than the wooden stocked guns, because they saw Michael Landon using a wood stock in Little House and he wasn't so bad.

Ultimately, they're like your typical computer user that calls into a help desk (which I'd guess is a good analogy to use on this forum). They know just enough about guns to be dangerous. They throw around ridiculously wrong information that gets consumed by the masses who don't know any better themselves.

Agreed!

I saw a report on the attack and it said they "were unsure as to whether the guns were automatic or semi-automatic, but they were all purchased legally" or something to that effect. Laughed out loud as I read it because I am aware of the federal gun law that severely restricts fully automatic weapons, banning their manufacture and import in the US, and requiring an arduous and expensive series of background checks and tax stamps to even buy the pre-1986 grandfathered ones (at insane prices thanks to a lack of new supply).

It's quite obvious that most journalists know very little about guns. You hear them all the time saying things like "the safety was off" when referring to a Glock or another gun that has no manual safety in the first place. Or they think that an AR-15 is a "machine gun" or a "sniper rifle."

There's a reason this image exists:
