I was reading about the new napster program on their site, and am wondering if anyone here thinks it's a good idea or if it will catch on.
The problems with it are (1) it costs money. $5-10 is what they say, (2) not all of the files will be in mp3 format. Instead they will be in NAP format which has a digital signature to protect the copyright, which unfortunately prevents it from being played on portable mp3 players etc.
Advantages: (1) it is legit. (2) supposedly large library and high quality downloads.
My thoughts: Maybe a small market share from P2P services like Morpheus et al. Limited to people who will pay for honesty, quality, diversity. HAH less than you would think.
