Is the new gtx 460 adequate for 3d gaming in DLP?

I'm building a new HTPC rig to be used conjunction with the rest of my HT (see spec)
The budget is a bit tight for a more beefier v/c.
Display is DLP Mits 73837.
A bit concern about the framerate being robbed in steroscopic.
Am I overly concerned?
Or should the 460 card be ok for now?
I intend to do 65% movies and 35% gaming with this rig.

3D framerates are roughly half those of normal framerates. So go take a look at GTX 460 reviews that have the games you want to play, and see if you'd still get a playable framerate at half the rate.

Sorry, no, not for DLP. You would need LCD to run that setup well.

I was just scouring the boards tying to piece together the same machine for a Sammy dlp to run s3d.

I'm leaning toward a single 470 fermi in a sli MB, so if the gpu just can't cut it I can always chuck in another. Yeah, you lose iz3d so stuck hoping tridef supports your games well--It's nice to have an alternative to fall back on.

Hope you enjoy yours... I'm still on the fence after adding up the huge cost. My tv is kind of dim in 3d and have to crush both black and white to get decent contrast. Then, after a minute or two I don't even notice the effect. It's a tough call, picture quality is so much better in 2d mode. Oh well.... prolly your Mits is brighter than my oldish led tv.

edit: sorry x58 is the wrong chipset for i5 750

Eh? DLP runs 3D just fine. It was the second platform NV 3D Vision supported at launch, along with 120Hz LCD monitors.

Where today would you be able to buy a 3d ready tv for much less than $2k with a 73" size?
The best 3D ready LCD can't even come close matching DLP refresh rate.

What kinda refresh rates are we looking at from a DLP with a respectable resolution? I'm very curious.
