This doesn't even make any fucking sens-- oh another nehalem post.

If using an NA logo is racist. Then using a Patriot logo must be anti-american.

Of course any sensible person see that using a Patriot as a logo is not anti-american. And by extension using a NA as a logo is not racist.

I think it is but legislating it away come on is there nothing better to do. I hate baseball either way so have really no vested interest in this sports team at all.

Maybe they should change the name to the Washington DemocratsSuck, the official sports team of Fox News.

I wonder if they would reconsider their proposal then?

Redskins may or may not be racist, but does congress really have nothing better to do?

Well I think its a safe assumption if the biggest issue of "racism" of our time is sports team names we can conclude the racism is done with :colbert:

I would ask native americans. If they are fine with it, not racist.

However if a team wanted to name themselves the "Wall Street Whities" I think there would be objections.

Maybe the they should change their name to the Washington Whiteskins just to make a point.

:hmm:

Or what if a team decided to call themselves the East Compton Crackers. Do you think Democrats in congress would be throwing a fit then?

What if that Native American was also a Republican congressman?

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — One of only two Native American members of Congress said that the Washington Redskins should change its team name because it is racially offensive to the minority group.

Rep. Tom Cole, R-Okla., an enrolled member of the Chickasaw Nation, said on Thursday that he finds the name, a racial descriptor for indigenous Americans, deeply offensive and feels strongly that it should be changed.

So its not a racial slur. Just a racial descriptor. Racism not found.

I object to the Boston Celtics, and their mascot, I'm offended by that leprechaun.

Or what about the Minnesota Vikings(a descriptor of a people living in Scandinavia), this could be considered offensive to people of Scandinavian origin.

or the Pittsburgh Steelers. This could be considered offensive to union members as Steelers sounds like Stealers, which implies the union members are basically thieves.

or the Cleveland Browns. Sounds like it might be offensive to mix-raced individuals.

or the New Orleans Saints. Sounds like the name might be offensive to Catholics

Kind of reminds me of the gaff where some overly pc morons took offence to the word niggardly.
