Is the memory speed always how far it will overclock?

Based on the formula 1000/memory speed(ns) ... is that the real speed you can set it too?

I am trying to figure if core or mem is causing the corruption my Retail 8500 128mb

well thats how fast it should go at least but you never can be for sure, best just to clock them back and push each one individualy untell you find the limmit.
