Someone told me WinXP finds it as a "Hi-Speed USB" device. I'm led to believe that it means its made for USB2, but even Lexar's site doesn't tout common slogans like fast transfers etc. I have a SanDisk Cruzer which is USB1 only, but I'd get a Trio in a second if its USB2 faster.

Lexar's website does a very good job of being misleading, IMO. They say it works with USB 1.0 and USB 2.0 ports. Which is true of all USB devices. Everything USB says the Trio uses "Original USB" so my guess is that this devices is not USB 2.0. Is it faster than what you have? I have no idea, but from what I seem to find it isn't USB2.0.

I looked at the box at it says USB2 compatible, which I'm pretty sure means its USB1.1 speeds.

yup! unless it clearly says USB2 it's probably 1.1. being usb2 and usb2 compatible are to totally different things.
