my gf needs a new phone and someone is selling their old HTC rooted phone for $100.

Never a great fan of HTC because they use some custom rom on my last HTC phone. She just wants a problem free phone that will last a little while. Thanks

IMO if you want a cheap used phone, look for a galaxy s3. The only reason I say that is because you could buy a fresh battery to replace the old one in it, which should make it last a while. I certainly wouldn't buy a phone with a non-removable battery that's already a couple years old.

The One X wasn't a bad phone, it just won't likely be "problem free" or last all that long without replacing the battery.

If you are buying new it would cost roughly 150 to 200 the moto g lte version is roughly the same. For 300 you can get slightly better, for 350 to 400 you will get much better.

I'd get her a used G Pro. It's regularly hitting the $200 price point on Swappa, is an excellent size for a purse carrier, and has very good phablet battery life even though as a S600 it's not quite as efficient as more recent (S800/S801) models. Also swappable battery and microSD and has been officially updated to KitKat.

Depends on what your budget is. Galaxy S3, Moto G, iPhone 4s etc. would all be solid choices.
