Kobe's fadeaway jumper is pretty much unguardable. If he's hot, he will go for 40 with that shot.
That is one man, not a shot.

Hey, can you tell me what Larry Bird did? Yeah. He hit a three point hook shot. Oh, by the way, its not that hard you realize? I'm mildly decent at basketball and can hit it 1 out of every 5 shots.Originally posted by: oboeguy
Hook shot from 20ft away? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
You realize that a college 3-pointer is from 19'9", right? I've never seen anyone hit a hook shot 3, and I'll bet nobody here has either.
do you even know what a hook shot is??? my bet is, you don't have a clue.

Not kidding.
But to be honest, I didn't realize until halfway through it, I was using a women's regulation size ball (28.5).
I could still do it, or come close with a men's sized ball.

On FT's it would make a difference quite a bit with the extra area difference from diameter of ball versus rim.

for me, it'd be easier to "adjust" shooting FT's with a woman's ball, rather than adjust while playing in a game.

eh? no gym rats here? i've hit three pointer hook shots and half court hook shots at least a few times. sure, it'll probably take me like 20 tries, but you speak of it like it's impossible, lol.

Very true. If they are large enough to play post, it is the best. otherwise, it is largely inaccurate from long distances and going at high speeds due to handling the ball. Sadly, not many center do hooks anymore, but baby hooks. It isn't flashy enough.
No one shoots it anymore because (1) you can't draw a foul, and (2) it is a low probability shot for most players.Originally posted by: iamme
if it is the best shot in basketball, you've got to wonder why no one shoots it anymore.
my guess is that it's not "cool" to practice.
btw, the best "play" in basketball is still the pick and roll, IMO. it's ancient yet still so difficult to guard.
